Midnight Cartel was founded as a Casual Raiding Guild, comprised of family members, and friends from all over the world. Founded on the ideals of Respect and Fair Play, Midnight Cartel is a friendly guild that welcomes all individuals of all playstyles and backgrounds. While Raiding is important, as a casual guild, it is not the be-all end-all, as we have an amazing crafting programme, guild banking programming, and top-notch tools to help you achieve you goals in the World. We know there is a lot of information on this page, but it all relates to who we are as a guild, and how we expect out guild members to act.
Welcome to Midnight Cartel
Guild Information
The Midnight Cartel was founded by a group of friends and family that have played together since they began playing WoW. Originally as part of a much smaller guild, which then partially merged into one of the largest "casual" guilds on Elune, the founders learned many things about organizing guilds. Shaade was an officer through each of these guilds, and for the most part, the group was happy as part of the larger guild, until that the guild started to move in the direction that many guilds do -- towards elitism. Though a tough choice, the founders decided that they must go their own way to play the game that they wanted to play.
Vowing never to exclude people just because they can't make every raid time, or because they choose to play their character in an"alternative way", or because they want to play with friends outside their guild, the founders left the drama which was unfolding in that "uuber guild", and formed the Midnight Cartel. The founders vowed further to always seek out the opinions of the membership, to embrace openness over secrecy, inclusion over exclusion, and fun over drama. One example of these principals in action was the first major decision of the guild: Tabard design! All members were invited to participate and vote on this process, and the result of this early democratic approach is tabard enjoyed by many.
Founded in October of 2005, on the principles still enjoyed by the guild today, the Cartel quickly grew. People seemed to embrace the greater goals of MC, to simply work together and have fun in a drama-free environment. Several guilds merged into MC, as players found they could easily fit in to such a diverse and casual group. Within two weeks the membership was at 100, within three - 120, and within 2 months the guild was at over 200 accounts - the target size for a casual raiding guild. With the inclusion of a dedicated bunch from KAOS, the guild began moving towards "end game" raiding. The founders of the Cartel worked hard to create a webspace with the technology and organization to help nourish a new thriving community outside the game.
While continuing the guild building process, the Midnight Cartel formed a multi-guild alliance began by Stan. The Alliance was hosted on the Cartel's forums, and with lots of energy and enthusiasm, the Alliance quickly achieved great success in Molten Core, with all bosses but Major Domo being taken down within 8 total nights (4 weekends). Yes, indeed a PUG can succeed in the Core! Over time a few of the member guilds decided to make their own way. The Cartel continues to enjoy great friendships on the server with such groups as the Art of War, and the Inquisition of Heresy.
This Alliance continued on until two guilds were left: The Midnight Cartel, and the Crimson Blades. Seeing it's membership swell, Shaade proposed that before MC hit their target membership numbers, that the two guilds which had achieved so much in Alliance, join together as a very natural fit. Waco and Balhala proceeded to make this happen, and the Midnight Cartel merged their last guild to become the single largest guild on Elune by January, 2006 — just 3 short months after their Charter was signed.
The Cartel is now composed of members from KAOS, Lethal Assassins, Sons of Warcraft, Shining Daggers, and Crimson Blades, as well as a few other lost souls who have found in the Midnight Cartel a home of acceptance. With "end game" and beyond in their sights, the Midnight Cartel has become one of the Elite powerhouse guilds, without being "elitist". It is a home for normal folk to log on and play in an exceptional manner. Indeed a "casual - friendly" guild truly can experience all that the World of Warcraft has to offer.
This is the summary of Midnight Cartel Guild Policy. You are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to read our main Guild Rules page in the Policy Section for the complete text and examples of these rules.
This is the most important of the guild rules. Anything you may do to diminish the game play of other members is forbidden. You must respect other people's time, and chat. You DO NOT have unlimited free speech here, and you should read over the details on the rules page for more information.
When forming raids and parties the leader of the group should be chosen and all the rules for the run should be clearly stated. There is also no Ninja Looting. Please see more information on our Raid Policy page.
As a member of the Midnight Cartel, you are expected to help one fellow guild member once per week.
As a casual guild, we practice inclusion and friendliness not only within the guild, but also with others on the server. While our roster is currently full, we have an exception to recruitment: No “real life” family member or personal friend of any member will be excluded from membership. We are closed to all other new members at this time.
All Guardians and Heros are expected to display good manners and to respect the guild members when disciplining them.
Officers will never tell you how to "spec" your toon, or how to play it. You will be asked to fill a certain roll as a party member, however. Officers are also required to defend the members of Midnight Cartel from harrassment both from outside the guild, and from within. Officers will also be assigned certain duties by the GM and members should respect the various areas of focus each officer oversees.
Democracy cannot work without participation. As a member of Midnight Cartel you are expected to sign up for the forums, and to participate in important elections and polls. Believe me.. this is a rare opportunity in WoW for you to shape YOUR GUILD.
→ 1. The GM will be, a tie-breaker on all Officer decisions.
→ 2. If the Officers determine that another officer is needed, the GM will open an election thread on the Forum, and elections will commence.
→ 3. At any time, a guild member may begin the process for Recalling an Officer. The member calling for the recall will be able to confidentially request that the GM open a thread with a poll to recall the Officer.
We are bound by the user licenses, agreements and codes of conduct of Blizzard Entertainment. You can find more information by following these links:

Midnight Cartel will uphold Blizzard's policies, and would like to point out the following important ideals:
♦ No buying of gold from ebay or any similar site will be tolerated.
♦ There will be no ‘hacking’ of the game software, or cheating.
If caught buying gold, hacking or cheating You will be immediately removed from guild without exception.
See rule #1 about respect. Remember that this extends to the Blizzard forums, and to other players and guilds in the game.
From time to time the officers will create rules and policies to further enhance the effectiveness and fun of the guild.
As you are no doubt aware the Midnight Cartel is a very large and active guild here on Elune. In order to help make this the best guild it can be, it is necessary to distribute the associated workload which would certainly be too great for any individual. What follows is an outline of the responsibilities of the Midnight Cartel’s ranks that we might all work together to the benefit of all – to keep this as one of the best guilds in WoW and continue in our efforts to make it even better.
A new member, having approx 2 weeks or less of time in the guild. Members of this rank do not have access to the guild bank, but otherwise retain all privileges (and responsibilities) retained by other members of the guild (i.e. raiding, voting in guild polls, ability to set forth suggestions on guild policy). Additional to new members, this rank may be used as needed to hold characters on leave of absence from the game.
Note that the 2 week timeframe given above is a rough guide as playtime can vary from player to player. As such, actual granting of Guildsman status will be gauged on a case by case basis. However, if at any time after 2 weeks you would like to have the possibility of promotion reviewed, feel free to contact an officer via PM so that guild leadership can make a determination with regards to it.
A probationary member. This rank does not enjoy the ability to speak in guild chat, and has done something not befitting a member of Midnight Cartel. Members will hold this rank for a time either previously established or as deemed necessary by guild leadership. This rank also forfeits all rights to the use of the Guild Bank and although they may be allowed to raid at the discretion of the guild leaders will not be eligible to earn Credits in doing so. You do not want to be here!
All members have a "Main" - their most often played or highest level toon. The Apprentice rank holds the “Alts” of those guild members having Guildsman or Defender rank. Characters of this rank enjoy all rights and responsibilities as held by their main alter-egos
A “Main” character and guild member in good standing. These members are the core of the guild and as such possess all rights, privileges, and responsibilities not expressly reserved for guild leadership.
Long-standing members of the guild.
Heros are the primary leaders of the guild. They are the Drill Sergeants and the Colonels, they are the Raid Leaders, the Problem Solvers, and every member's FIRST STOP (save on occasion the Prefects) in any question or need that has to do with the game or the guild. USE your Heros! Heros are considered Officers in all ways, and have all duties and privileges of an officer except for guild removal and inviting. Heros may also rank their alts at this level for convenience of the membership. Raid leaders are always Heros or above and as such are charged with dispensing, and charging Cartel Credits. For a further outline on the responsibilities and promotion process of this rank please see the “Hero’s Charter” and “Election Procedures” sections respectively on this page.
Banker - Fairly self-explanatory. These are Officer's alts tasked with serving as the guild bank, and are ranked as such so that their complete inventories can be uploaded to our roster for viewing as well as to allow participation in officer chat. As Officers, these persons additionally hold other rights and responsibilities as outlined by that rank below.
Our bankers put a great deal of work into supplying the Cartel what is undoubtedly one of the most complete and functional guild banks you will ever see, and deserve a great deal of respect for the time they put forth. Thus, while most questions/requests should be directed to the boards per Banking Policy, in ALL cases members are NEVER to whisper a Bank toon directly, UNLESS the banker spams in /g "Bank services are open" or similar comment. Violation of this rule is subject to severe penalties.
- These are the Administrators of the guild (and their alts as well as the alts of the GM). These persons hold responsibilities likewise as contained within the Hero’s Charter. However, while the Heros are responsible primarily for the day to day operation of the guild, Officers have sole discretion with regards to recruitment and removal of persons from the guild. Additionally, while Midnight Cartel policy is formed by all ranks Hero and above with input from the guild in general, the final word in the setting of said policy is reserved for Officers alone.
Promotion to this rank is by appointment only as the current Officers deem it necessary to add to their ranks. Only Heros are eligible for such appointment. Members of this rank are also subject to review of the guild as defined by “Recall Procedures” below.
The Guildmaster. From this rank Shaade effectively serves as another officer, and as such acts as the tie-breaker among those of this rank. In day to day operation he acts as “the last word” in disputes and questions regarding guild policy. To that end he reserves the right to make immediate alterations to said policy as deemed in the best interest of the guild until such time as the matter can be before the guild for more thorough discussion.
Please note the phasing of the above – “the LAST word”. With the exception of disputes with Officers, please do not consult Shaade directly without asking to make certain that he has the opportunity to address your topic or that the question could not be dealt with (as is often the case) by another guild/class leader. Shaade will certainly make himself available as possible but bear in mind you are not the only one with questions and it makes very little sense to have him simultaneously fielding a mass of tells while other leaders online receive little to none.
Guild Policies
The Midnight Cartel's Golden Rule is that we are all here to have Fun! When it becomes “not fun” it becomes the responsibility of the Guild Leadership to step in with some rules to keep the game fair and fun. We realize these rules are long, but they are also complete, and presented after a lot of thought and debate by the guild founders.
With that in mind, I present these Guild Rules to provide a little structure to what can be a very emotional and stressful “game”. While lengthy, please understand we have made every effort to provide a safe, friendly, and fair environment in which you can enjoy your tour of Azeroth.
The leadership, will remove anyone from the guild at their discretion. I place great trust in my guild leaders, and support their decisions. All Guardians and Heros are expected to take whatever time is required to investigate any incidents before removing guild members. — Shaade
Respect each other: This is the most important of the guild rules, and the most broad. Basically it means that everyone is here to have fun, and anything that you may do to diminish other's fun time in this game here is not tolerated.
This concept is really important to Midnight Cartel. It's also the rule that the officers are expected to enforce without hesitation. Members of the Midnight Cartel will be expected to extend their respect towards the WoW community in general on forums and in the game. This rule extends not only to our Alliance Guilds but to all Guilds and persons on the server. This rule also extends to our private Ventrilo server. Some examples:
♦ NO harmful language will be tolerated in guild or party chat. Please keep your language appropriate so that the mother who has her nine year old in guild will not have to explain your foul references to him. This boundary has been pushed more than any other, so please see the special note below on "free" speech.
♦ There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for racism, sexism, prejudice or blatant flaming. Please remember that we have people of all races, creeds, physical disposition, and sexual preference. Please do not offend people who are (for example) gay by using 'gay' as a bad word. “That's so fucking gay” is a bootable offense. Also politics and religion, are generally not good topics for guild chat. Take it to party or whisper or a private channel. This game is a safe place for people to escape from that RL stuff.
♦ Respect for people's time: Please remember that everyone here pays their $15/month to be here just like you. If you ask for help, please have a game plan - research your quests, and know what you have to do before you invite a bunch of people on your adventures with you. This also means that if you sign up for a run, you must be on time. If you are going to be late, please find a friend in the game and trade phone numbers, or at least send a private message on the forums to an officer. Penalties for signing up and not showing are at the discretion of the Raid Leaders, and will be enforced by the Officers.
♦ Respect for Chat: We would like guild chat to be open and relaxed, but no one wants to see the window scroll by at 150 words per minute with things like: “OMFG HAXXOR FPWONED LSDKWUEIANVEER omg look at this: link link link link link... that lewt is phaaaat”. Personal conversations should be restricted to whispers, your parties, or private channels. Frankly, most people come to this game to escape gossip and drama.
A note on Language and "Free" Speech.
It has come to my attention recently that guild members have tried to push the boundaries of the Respect rule in terms of language, and they use their "rights to freedom of speech" as an excuse to mouth off. Let me emphasize here... This is a PRIVATE LOCATION and your rights to free speech extend only to where the owners of this private location wish it to. In this case, your rights STOP where the rights of others to play without harassment begin.
First off, do your research! Take a look over your Constitutional Amendments, then look at a well thought out essay on your rights. I would like you to read what our supreme court has said about shouting fire in a crowded theatre, and finally the most recent definition of the boundary of your rights to speak as you choose, known as the doctrine of imminent lawless action that can result from some "free" speech.
The bottom line here is that the guild leaders will take whatever action is deemed necessary to keep this a peaceful and friendly place to play. If that means we have to prevent you from "freely" speaking your mind sometimes, we will. Just remember that your constitutional rights are protected in PUBLIC areas, but your rights do not extend to PRIVATE areas of which Elune, and the Midnight Cartel certainly are.
When forming Raids/Parties the leader of the group should be chosen and all the rules for the run should be clearly stated.
In our experience the #1 problem that develops between players is something happens with loot or strategy, and it's because the rules were not laid down at the beginning. Never assume your party members know what you expect of them.
Related to this, Ninja Looting will never be tolerated. Within guild runs or without. If I am told of a member ninjaing any item in PUGs, I will investigate it and likely favor against you! It's that important to me that you represent our guild in a positive manner, and usually where there's smoke... there's fire.
*** Very Important: Note that when you begin to join raids, you will be required to run several 3rd party Mods to be an effective raider. Some other mods may be necessary as well, and will be determined by party leaders.
As a member of the Midnight Cartel, you are expected to help one fellow guild member once per week.
While we won't track you down and discipline on this one... it's basically our ‘other golden rule’. Remember... that one day that 'newbie' you help though the Stockades will be 60... and someday you'll sure be glad she's there when you need that last second heal, or need help killing that Dragon. I've lived my game by this rule, and many of you are here with me because I was there for you when you needed me, and now you are here for this wonderful guild of OURS. Helping not only feels good, but it's the cornerstone of MMORPGS... we are playing here TOGETHER. The relationships that come from this helping attitude are the ties that bind a guild together.
These forums are great places to ask for and to offer help. Don't forget though, those pleas in /g chat “Can anyone help me with xxx” or “would anyone like to go to xxx” should not be ignored. Even if you don't have the time, if someone is brave enough to ask for help in /g, at least give them the courtesy of a reply. “Sorry, I can't right now, but catch me later, ok?” Note that you should also not spam for help over and over in guild chat.
One of the founding ideals of Midnight Cartel is that this is a guild of inclusion, not of exclusion. We might label ourselves as “A family friendly, Casual Style End Game Raid Guild”.
This means that no “real life” family member or personal friend of any member will be excluded from membership.
Midnight Cartel has achieved enormous success in our recruitment efforts. Until further notice, we are closed to new members except for the above RL F&F exclusion. As a member, we ask that you respect this closure. At this time, we do not limit "Alts" in the guild, but if we close in on the Blizzard limit of 500 members, we may have to. Please only offer the people you know in your real outside lives as potential new members, and not just folks you've partied with on the server..
It would be a simple thing for us to form an elitist guild like all the others of 60 dedicated, with mandatory attendance, uuberly equipped members who feel that raiding > work, family and life.
Recruitment: To achieve our goals, we will need you all to help level your comrades -- this is our first priority -- helping our current members. On rare occasions, the guild leadership may invite new members outside of the "RL F&F" exclusion. New member candidates must attend an officer-led raid, to see if they are a good fit here. If the candidate also agrees to these guild rules, and joins our forums, they may then be invited to join.
Note to new recruits: This guild is considered PG-13! No children under the age of 13 will be allowed to play in the guild without the supervision of their parents. In order to join the guild, you MUST FIRST REGISTER FOR OUR FORUMS. During the registration process you will be asked to confirm your age. No member of the guild will be held liable if you lie about your age in this process.
Remember that those that you invite to join us, reflect also upon you to a degree, and you should take time to guide them through the game within the guild. Don't just recruit 'em and forget em.
All Guardians and Heros are expected to display behavior that would cause our members to be proud to introduce you to their friends, potential recruits, and their Moms.
Some nice words to think about: Honesty, Fair Play, Integrity, Sacrifice, Generosity, Helpfulness, Enthusiasm, Knowledge, Responsibility. If you don't know the answer..... you should know where to send people to find them.
All leaders of the guild are expected to enforce these rules without exception until such a time as the membership decides to alter them. When ever you are in doubt, when you get that queasy feeling in your stomach... just ask another officer to group with you and whoever you are ‘enforcing’.
Also No GM, Guardian, or Hero shall ever require or restrict any member to play their game in any way but the way they want to play it! Midnight Cartel does not require you to “spec” your toon in anyway. You are, however expected to understand your party role, and to play well. If you find that you need help with your spec or with your gear choices, that is what your guild is for.. Ask!
♦ Guardians are expected to protect and defend the members and the good name of the guild in and out of gameplay. Please show the officers your respect as they work very hard to this end.
♦ Guardians will be assigned certain tasks and duties - "Specializations" by the Guild Master. Running a guild of this size and scope is hard work, and as an officer you will be expected to pitch in. Members who wish to add to the process may also take on tasks. In particular our Raid leaders (Hero rank) are expected to show leadership by running raids, and going above & beyond to help other members of the guild.
While this is a guild under the ultimate control of the Guild Master... I have placed my leadership of the guild in the hands of the membership. I am responsible to you, and I am to be held accountable to you.
While we have not completely decided on the exact processes of accountability, for now I have adopted the following policies:
1. The GM will be, in general, a tie-breaker on all Officer decisions. Sometimes the GM will need to make quick decisions without consulting the Officers, but the GM promises to be responsive and reasonable and willing to change his mind. At such as time as 2/3 of the Officers deem the GM to be unable/unwilling to lead the guild, they can vote to ask him to step down to the level of Officer. The officers will then elect one of their own to replace him.
2. From time to time, the guild may become large enough, or a specific need may arise to ask another member of the guild to serve as an officer. If the Officers determine that such an addition is needed, and open election thread of the guild will be started by the GM and elections will commence in a timely fashion.
3. At any time, a guild member may begin the process for Recalling an Officer. The member(s) at this time may petition using these forums any particular Officer to step aside for another of the guild to be elected. The member(s) calling for the recall will be able to confidentially request that the GM open a thread with a poll to recall the Officer. 5 Votes are enough to trigger an election. At this point an open election thread will be created by the GM and the first nomination will be the recalled Officer. All members at this time may nominate and/or voice support for any candidate. At the end of two weeks, the election will be held by poll in that same thread.
*** Note: No reprisals or ill-will will be tolerated during this process. No blatant flaming and baseless accusations. As an officer of Midnight Cartel, you have agreed to this democratic process, and will abide the will of the Membership. In fact, Midnight Cartel encourages its officers to feel that they can take breaks from time to time, and stepping down from officership is not a bad thing nor does it have any stigma attached to it. It just means you want to play your game a little more without the pressure of leadership. Your service to your guild is always loved and honored.
Democracy cannot work without participation. As a member of Midnight Cartel you are expected to sign up for the forums, and to participate in important elections and polls. Believe me.. this is a rare opportunity in WoW for you to shape YOUR GUILD.
You should also note that we are bound by the user licenses, agreements and codes of conduct of Blizzard Entertainment. You can find more information by following these links:

Midnight Cartel will uphold Blizzard's policies, and would like to point out the following important ideals:
♦ No buying of gold from ebay or any similar site will be tolerated. You will be immediately removed from guild if you participate in this type of commerce. This not only spoils the game economy, but is also harmful to the poor souls who work in digital sweatshops.
♦ There will be no ‘hacking’ of the game software. Cheating is not honorable, respectful, nor fun for others. You will be immediately removed from guild if caught hacking or cheating without exception.
See rule #1 about respect. Remember that this extends to the Blizzard forums, and to other players and guilds in the game.
From time to time the officers will create rules and policies to further enhance the effectiveness and fun of the guild.
We always remember that our first goal is FUN, but once in a while structure has to be placed in order to enhance the greater good of the guild.
As always, Midnight Cartel not only encourages, but relies on your input. The Officers retain the right to at any time alter and adjust these rules to better serve the guild. This process will normally take place here on these forums, but if need arises, the Officers and the GM may need to take immediate action. Please join the forums and lend your talents and insights into how we can make it the Best Guild on Elune!
Midnight Cartel utilizes a variety of technology to aid in the administration of the guild, comunication, and for the general enjoyment of its members. This is paid for by volunteers, and administered by Adric, our Technology Officer. All rules herein are subject to the ownership of the website, the GPLs of software utilized, Blizzard, Ventrilo.com, and the owners of the respective servers. Thus while you are encouraged to first check with guild leadership and the below to address questions you may have with regards to guild technology, Adric and the owners of these services remain the last word in matters pertaining to them.
Midnight Cartel, nor any of its members will be held responsible for any misuse of technology, or harm to your computer from using MidnightCartel.com. Please remember to use Virus Protection, Ad/Scam detection, and other reasonable safeguards here. . We assume that anyone accessing our site or using our servers is intelligent, mature, and knowledgeable. Please don't let us down! We are, however, here to help, and in the Site & Technology area of our forum, you can find great resources and assistance in all maters of technology.
The net is a dangerous place. Due to recent Phishing scams, please know that no member of this guild community will EVER Ask you for your WoW log in password, especially via email. Please always look carefully at your email sender's address. For example, Shaade will only EVER send you something from "Shaade @ MidnightCartel .com". Please be very careful out there.
To allow our guild to communicate more freely in game and aid in end game raiding we possess a Ventrilo voice over IP Server. You can download the necessary Ventrilo Client here. Note that the ability to use Ventrilo is required for a number of end-game raids as defined by Raiding Policy. In these cases it is generally required to at least be able to listen, and the ability to speak over vent is much less frequently mandated.
This server is paid for and run by Broadnuke, and ultimately usage is at his sole consent and discretion. We provide this service to all members and guests of Midnight Cartel, and Midnight Corral with the following rules and restrictions:
- All guild rules are in effect while logged into vent, especially rule #1 Respect.
- Any member or guest logging in is required to log in under their IN-GAME name.
- Guests may only use the server while playing with a Guild member.
- No inappropriate "When logging in" sounds are allowed! This includes offensive, sexual, or drug related vocalizations.
- If your mic is messed up, please do not use it, as it will harm other's hearing. You will be globally muted from time to time by an admin if your sound is blaring in any way.
- You should announce yourself when entering new channels with a kind "Hello".
- No language that is inappropriate for children is allowed without the express consent of every member in the channel. This is especially true before 10 PM server time.
Note that since per the above vent is required for a number of raids, those banned from the ventrillo server for any reason will likewise be disallowed participation in those events which require it. On guild sponsored raids, vent will be kept clean. If it is one of those "wacky stress-relieving 'Naughty' raids" please ask a mod to move the group to a Red (password) channel so that innocent folk wandering by don't have to hear the junk.
We recognize that this is a fun atmosphere for adults to express themselves, and hope that you can become closer as a community by using Ventrilo. We also want to emphasize Rule #1 in this guild... Respect. Don't forget -- you never know who is listening or watching... so always pretend it's your mom in the public areas and you should be ok.
Our forum admins will take whatever action necessary to maintain the spam-free, junk-free, flame-free environment so many crave on these boards. Please note again, that all guild rules apply to the Forum. Anyone under the age of 13, is required to have the supervision of a parent or guardian to use our forum.
In general, we do not edit posts as a policy. The use of "colorful metaphors" is to be expected in the free exchange of ideas, and we encourage it. Also the leadership not only expects, but requires debate! We don't care that you disagree with us, because it’s a healthy thing, but we do care HOW you do it. Some examples of what is not allowed:
- Swearing excessively, especially on a public area of the forum where anyone can read it.
- Calling other members nasty names with malicious or belligerent intent
- Allowing non-members to use your account
- Flaming and personal attacks on any member or visitor
We think Mods and Add-Ons are COOL! However, you should only use them if you know what you are doing. Any mods, including those already mentioned, that are required for guild raids, or to use this site will have extensive tutorials in the Site & Technology area of our forums.
You should only go through reliable websites to get your mods! Sites such as Curse Gaming, and WowAce have proven track records of safety. Note that you should be VERY careful of ANY mod that comes with an "Installer". Avoid these like the plague, as no mod is ever more difficult to install than just dropping in your World_Of_Warcraft/Interface/AddOns folder directory. Also, you should never disable the WoW Launcher. It does indeed have a malicious code detection feature built in that I have personally verified with Gamemasters.
As a final note know that violation of the rule or spirit of Midnight Cartel while using our Technology is cause for guild removal. Please show the respect and gratitude to the fine people who bring these game aids to you.
Please ask Tallilea, Clarista, or Broadnuke for inquiries or requests regarding the bank. Distributing jobs in the guild reduces the work load on our officers, hopefully will reduce the "Hell Tell" a certain person experiences. We're here to help. Use us! [Note that Tallilea is our main banker, but she has been on part-time game status, and your first stop should always be Clarista]
We ask that initial bank requests be sent through in-game mail to either Clarista, Broadnuke, or Tallilea. We will try to honor every request, and will help you with your projects - Just Ask!
◦Requests are filled on a "first made" basis.
◦Please make requests from your "Main toon" only (Guildsman Rank).
◦New recruits (Tyros) should wait TWO WEEKS before making bank requests.
It is considered good form to donate items of equal value when you make a withdrawal. This will help us keep the bank supply there for other members.
ALL donations are welcome and should be placed in TAB #1 "Deposits". Our bank has goods and items available thanks to your continuous support and donations. We couldn't do it without you guys!Gold donations can be made by mail to bankers or via the Guild Vault interface. Lottery donations and purchases should be made by in-game mail directly to Cartellotto - from your Main only please.
Withdrawals... ◦Tabs 2 & 3 are the open withdrawal tabs. Please feel free to take what you need from your Main (Guildsman+).
◦Don't see what you need? Make a mail request, or ask for an Officer to help. Many higher level goods and raiding aids are freely available to Hero ranks and up. The guild is here to help with ALL item enhancements to better your game!
Historically, Midnight Cartel bank neither makes gold loans, nor sells any items. All items are given freely if requested, and if we are able. The gold is used to purchase items for the guild as needed. Exceptions are very rarely made, and this policy is subject to change in the future.
If you are making a crafted item and need some material from the bank, we ask that you at least have half the materials farmed before making a bank request. We do want you to improve your crafts, and are here to help!
BOE epics will go to mains first, with raiders being a priority. Making them a priority help the whole guild progress… we hope you understand. [Please see notes below on this subject]
All rules are subjected to change and additional rules may be added in the future.
We cannot help you unless you ask... so do! And remember.... if your guild does something for you, pay it forward when you are able through your kind donations.
A Guild Lottery is a very fun event designed to build guild camaraderie, and all members are encouraged to participate. Here's how it works:
The lottery takes place sporaticaly, and will be announced both in the Guild Message of the Day, as well as on the forums.
A ticket costs 1 gold. Your entry must be mailed to Cartellotto - the Guild Lottery Master - no later than 2 hours before draw time of Lottery Day. Everyone is welcome to participate at all levels. Donations in excess of 1 gold are always gladly accepted =)
Only members of Midnight Cartel are allowed to participate. As a change from our past rules, you MAY buy a ticket for EACH toon you have in the guild. You MUST do this by in-game mail. Each ticket gets a roll.
Attendance is ENCOURAGED for getting to know your fellow members, but not required. IF YOU ARE NOT PRESENT, you can still win, but 1/2 of the winning pot will be rolled over to the next lotto (less bank cut). Winnings will be immediately handed out or mailed.
Guardians and the person running the lotto are exempt from winning, though may donate to the lotto pot.
We will be having Guild Meet-Ups on Lotto nights. This will take place in Stormwind at the Grand Hall in the Northeast corner of the Dwarven District. (Near the Gnomish tram entrance). The Activities Group may arrange fun things to do after the Lotto, and prizes may be awarded. During past lotto meetups, the bankers have provided for enchanting parties as well, so be sure to come for fun and lewt! We'd also like to take some group screenshots (fun costumes are a necessity!).
A Raid will be set up for all attendees to run the Lotto. This Raid Group is solely to conduct the meeting, and all levels are welcome to participate in the Meet-Up. Please be ungrouped and ready for the invite promptly at 7 PM. We kindly ask that you keep chit chat to /g or in whisper so that we can run the drawing quickly and efficiently and get back to killin'.
This will go quickly! We'll begin the lotto as Cartellotto names and rolls for those entrants not present, with an Assistant to verify. After, we'll note the high roll from absentees, then begin the attendees' roll by saying "Everyone Roll!" Just type "/roll" to enter.
If you roll twice you will be excluded from that week's lotto. There will be a Lottery Assistant present to help track rolls and to verify the winner. The Pot will be awarded immediately to the highest roller. Ties will result in a roll-off. For multiple toon entrants, the alt entries will be rolled for by Cartellotto.
The Lotto will also be a fund raiser to benefit the whole guild through the bank. 10% of Pot will be donated to the Bank. For example, if the total entrants amount to 20 Gold, then 18 G will go to the winnner, and 2 G will go to the bank. Remember to take advantage of this awesome resource... it's YOUR bank.
